Lydney Foodbank

Lydney’s Foodbank was officially opened on October 2013 and the Dean Academy is supporting this venture by collecting food items from the official shopping list. The school is also a voucher holder, so that we can issue vouchers for the foodbank to families in crisis. TLC Welcome Project Lottery Grant Success

The Big Lottery Reaching Communities Programme has awarded £277,531 to Forest of Dean based The Lydney Cluster (TLC) Welcome Project. The Lydney Cluster (TLC) Welcome Project was spearheaded and developed by Severnbanks Primary School in Lydney. The focus of the project is aimed at parents and carers living within the Lydney cluster of schools. The project will work in partnership with Gloucestershire based national charity, Family Lives.

Lydney Library offers the following opportunities: First Click Computer Courses are available for complete beginners (also at Cinderford, Coleford and Newent libraries). Three x 3 hour weekly sessions. Cost £15.00. A Computer Buddy is available for one to one support with setting up an email, shopping online, family history searches, etc. Please pre book an appointment for up to an hour. Basic computer skills are needed. Free of charge.
