I just wanted to offer my feedback from a lovely Open Day I attended with my yr 5 daughter this morning. We received a warm welcome and and left feeling inspired and totally impressed with Dean Academy. The two students who showed us around were very professional and their enthusiasm for their school was infectious. If my daughter gave a future student a tour of that level one day I would be very proud of her.

We give a great deal of consideration to primary transition, knowing that it is one of the most anxious times for parents and children. The first consideration is “which school?” Where will my child be safe, happy and successful? Where will s/he build confidence, friendship groups and a lifelong love of education (or build on that love of learning already developed by the primary school)? These are not always easy questions to answer and as parents as well as teachers, we appreciate the challenge. To help you decide whether The Dean Academy is the right choice for your child, we have produced a detailed prospectus that is available online or by post on request. In addition, our open days and evening take place in the third week in September but you are very welcome to visit us at any time. Please call and we will be delighted to show you and your child around the academy during a normal working day.
For parents and children who decide to choose The Dean Academy, we offer three transition days in the July preceding entry, which provide opportunities for students to familiarise themselves with the academy and staff and to begin to make new friends. The days are filled with activities to help with the change to secondary school life.
